Want your kids to get involved in helping the community and making our world a better place?
Outreach is a PTA sponsored program that allows kids to volunteer and take part in helping others.
Throughout the year Valencia Elementary PTA participates in various OUTREACH events! One of our favorite & most recent events is “Wear A Pair, Bring A Pair Pajama Day” which happens every December. It is a school wide event, where all our students have the opportunity to be a part of “Giving Back” to the community!!! Valencia currently has over 600 students! This year approximately 200+ students participated by bringing a total of 220 pairs of pajamas to donate! We had students & parent volunteers work together to collect the pajamas the morning of the event. We then had an additional OUTREACH day in which over 30 students & adult volunteers helped sort the pajamas for delivery to CHOC Oncology Department. At Valencia Elementary, our motto is to “STRIVE” to be the best we can be, to think bigger than ourselves & make the world better!!!
Our next OUTREACH event is Towels for Troops, where we team up with one of Valencia’s awesome teachers Mr. Steidle to collect towels for troops that are coming home from deployment.
Join us after school on Monday, February 4th for our OUTREACH meeting to learn more about the impact of this event. In addition, students will help throughout the first week of February to collect & organize the towels.
Outreach is free and meets once a month after school at the lunch tables and MPR and volunteer projects vary (from making beds and toys for animals at the shelter to making blankets or care packages for sick children, to putting together meals to help feed the homeless, planting butterfly stations, etc.).
More information on dates & times will be included in the weekly PTA e-blast. We look forward to seeing you at the next event!
